Flexible fly drive CubaFor years the flexible fly drive has been a popular means of travelling through Cuba. Compared to our regular independent self-drive itineraries with scheduled routing, you can make spur of the moment decisions on where you would like to go next with our flexible fly drive option. You aren't obligated to take a certain route and so you'll have more freedom to for instance spend more time in one location or totally skip another. Accommodation for your trip is paid for, but isn't pre-determined.How does the flexible fly drive Cuba work? Prior to your departure you'll 'purchase' a certain number of days of car hire and a certain number of hotel vouchers from Cuba Travel Plan. Once you reach Cuba you'll travel independently through the country by rental car. You'll use your hotel vouchers to pay for your accommodation. You decide which of the over 80 affiliated hotels you would like to spend the night at. These hotels are spread out across the entire country. |

Advantages and disadvantages of the Flexible fly drive Cuba One of the main advantages is that you decide which towns and cities you want to visit and how long you want to visit them AS YOU GO. Although this may seem very appealing at first glance, we do however want to point out a few disadvantages that we encountered. The flexible fly drive Cuba is an appealing product at a low price, however there are a few trade-offs. In reality you're less flexible than you would imagine - during the entire trip you'll have to decide where you want to sleep a day before you get there. You'll have to call the hotel - which isn't always easy since telephone service can be poor in Cuba - to check availability. It's best never to tell the hotel staff on the phone that you'll be paying with a voucher; if you do the hotel may 'all of a sudden' have no vacancies left. All things considered you'll have to spend quite some time each day arranging accommodation and any difficulties in doing so can dampen your holiday spirits. |
